Here at Somerset Foodie we are really big fans of Fussels Fine Foods. We share a warehouse with them on their farm in Rode village, and we are fanatical about their delicious cold pressed rapeseed oil.
The Fussell family have been farming in Somerset for generations and set up the Fussels Fine Food Company in 2005 selling their own rapeseed oil as a West Country alternative to imported olive oils. The Fussells oversee every aspect of their oil production, from sowing to cold pressing and bottling and because they store the seed, not the oil, what they bottle and sell as Fussels single cold pressed extra virgin oil is always incredibly fresh.
Fussel's single cold pressed rapeseed oil has a wonderful buttery, nutty flavour and we use it every day of the week in the Somerset Foodie kitchen. It has 10 x the essential fatty acid Omega 3 versus olive oil, a terrific balance of Omegas 3 and 6, half the saturated fat of olive oil. It’s high in monounsaturated fats and is an excellent source of vitamin E. It cooks to a higher temperature than olive oil, making it a really versatile oil choice.
Fussels Fine Foods also make a range of dressings, mayonnaises, flavoured oils, sauce, vinaigrettes and gift boxes. Here's a link to their full range or click here to contact the team.
